Internet Baccarat Rules
We’d like to dispel the hype that internet Baccarat is a complicated game available only to High Rollers.
Yes, it has higher betting limits than the average casino game, but that doesn’t put it out of reach of the average gambler. Simply don’t bet the high limits. As for being complicated, that too is a misconception as you’ll see when you read the rules as we explain them.
Online Baccarat is played with 6 – 8 decks of cards and there can be up to 14 players in a game.
The cards in internet baccarat are valued quite differently than other games, the 2’s through 9’s are at face value, the Ace counts for one and the 10’s and all of the face cards count as 0.
9 is the highest hand you can get, and the object of casino baccarat is to acheive a higher hand than the dealer.
Before you are dealt any cards, you will place one of three bets. A bet on the Banker’s hand placed in the Banker’s Box, a bet on your hand placed in the Player’s Box, or a bet that you and the Banker will tie placed in the Standoff Box. The third bet is rarely used in casino baccarat.
After the bets have been made, the dealer will deal himself two cards, then each player will receive two cards, with a possibility of a third card if the circumstances warrant it. We’ll explain this a little later.
The total of the cards are tallied by adding up the two cards and taking the digit on the right as the total. For example, if you are dealt a 9 and a 3, this equals 12, your hand total is 2. A perfect hand in internet baccarat would total 9. For hands that total less than 7 there are rules that apply to the Banker and the player.
Third Card Rules for the Player
Cards equaling 6 or more means the player has to stand.
Cards equaling 5 or less means the player has to draw a card.
Third Card Rules for the Banker
Cards equaling 7 or more means the Banker has to stand.
Cards totaling 0, 1 or 2 means the Banker has to draw a card.
Cards totaling 3 and the player has a third card that is any other card except an 8, the Banker must draw a card.
Cards totaling 4 and the player has a third card that is any other card except 1, 8, 9 or 0, the Banker must draw a card.
Cards totaling 5 and the player has a 4, 5, 6 or 7, the Banker must draw a card.
Cards totaling 6 and the player has a third card that is a 6 or 7, the Banker must draw a hit.
The rules are not as complicated as they may seem for Internet Baccarat, all it takes it to play the casino baccarat game a couple of times and you’ll see for yourself just how enjoyable online baccarat really is.
