Internet Blackjack Rules – How to play Blackjack online?
The rules for Internet Blackjack are no different from any Blackjack game you’ll find at a land based casino or even the game you might play at home. There are some differences however in some of the variations of the game offered in the casinos.
The object of the classic internet blackjack game like in land based casinos is to get the closest hand totalling 21 without going over. The best hand is the Blackjack, which is a Face card and an Ace, some rules say you can also have a 10 and an Ace and it’s considered a Blackjack.
The dealer deals to his left first, dealing until all players have two cards face up. Each player will in turn make bets on his or her hand, and has the option of ‘Hitting’ or ‘Standing’. When the player is satisfied with the hand, or has ‘Busted’ the dealer goes to the next player and repeats this process. When all players have played out their hand, the dealer plays out his hand and the winners are paid, then the next game begins.
There are a few basic blackjack rules that you must keep in mind when you play online blackjack. These are outlined below and explained in some detail.
Before each hand is dealt, of course also in internet blackjack the player must make a wager. The dealer deals the cards face up to each player and one card face up and one face down to himself.
The dealer must hit on 16 and stand on any 17.
The dealer does not ‘Peek’ at his down card until all players have played out their hands.
A push is won by the dealer.
When a player and the dealer both have Blackjack, the dealer wins.
Insurance may be taken when the dealers face up card is an Ace. This is a side bet that is equal to half or less of the original bet against the dealer’s possibility of having a Blackjack.
You may ‘Surrender’ your hand before the dealer shows his hand, and you will lose half your bet.
Double Down is allowed on your turn after your two cards have been dealt, but you are only allowed to hit one card.
Splits are allowed only if the original two cards are of the same value.
Hard Hands are any hands without an Ace.
Soft Hands are hands that have an Ace, you may see references to a soft 17 for example, this means the hand totals 17 with the Ace.
